Making Pizza to grow our Maths Brains

In maths we have been learning all about doubling and halving our numbers to 10. We have also been learning about fractions, first halves and quarters of objects, and now of numbers to 20.
We loved making Pizza to practice this skill.

To make the pizzas we (in pairs):
 - 'Cut' the pizza in half using a pen, so both child had an equal half each
 - We used lots of strategies in our maths brains (counting on fingers, reverse knowledge of doubles, counting the topping ) to decide what half of the number would be.
 - We put the toppings on the pizza and counted to check if we were right.

We think they looked delicious when they were all cooked up!!
Come and check them out on the wall of our class room. We wrote a recipe with our maths learning for you to see.
